Keyboard Basher Technology

Keyboard Basher™ is a new, patent-pending, technology that lets users use the keyboard as a pointing device, and target multiple locations simultaneously. It’s ideal for first-person shooting games, but can also be used in other circumstances.

Licensing

Non-commercial software can use Keyboard Basher™ technology freely (e.g. investigation, personal free games, educational). If you wish to use it for a commercial project that generates revenue, you must first enter into a commercial agreement with Bonkers Builders. An international patent is pending for this technology.

You can develop your games and apps using Keyboard Basher™ technology thanks to the provided open-source libraries:

  • For Unity (coming soon)
  • For Unreal (coming soon)

Principle

The core principle of Keyboard Basher™ is a mapping of the location of the keys of a computer keyboard to corresponding areas of the screen. So when the user presses a key on the keyboard, it triggers an action on the objects in the related areas of the screen. You can interact with one or more elements at the same time!

For example, on a standard 104-key QWERTY keyboard, the P key is approximately in the middle of the keyboard. So if you want to shoot at an enemy in the heart, which is currently located in the middle of the screen (see image below), you could press the P key:

To shoot him in the eye, you could press the F9 key. To shoot him on the left hand, the Delete or End key. And so on.
